Working collaboratively with our team is integral to the success of this role, as is communication and an exploratory nature, keen to work with high-quality and fresh ingredients.
This is a ‘never stand still’ kind of job. There’s lots of preparation work to do around busy service times – always a task to complete and more skill to learn.
Working within our kitchens offers a fantastic work-life balance but it’s important that you have an adaptable outlook as the work required can be varied alongside the core tasks of creative innovation and delicious dishes!
The Role:
As a Chef, you will provide an efficient and effective catering service in line with company standards of service, quality and presentation, whilst complying with legislation and financial targets.
40 hours per week – with no late nights
Working 48 weeks per year based around term time – what could you do with all that time off?
£13 - £13.50 per hour

Main Responsibilities :
Adapt the menus to meet business requirements, considering costs and nutritional standards
Efficiently produce quality food according to costed recipes ensuring sufficient quantities and proper presentation
Identify stock requirements and place orders using nominated suppliers.
Maintain high standards of hospitality catering as per the brochure
Brief staff on ingredients, cooking methods and portion size
Provide polite, friendly and personal service, tp achieve total customer satisfaction
Implement and monitor the effective use of the Food Safety Management System.
Ensure that cleaning is completed as per the schedule with sufficient clean cutlery and crockery
Adhere to company health and safety policies and procedures
Complete all relevant entries on the company bookwork and follow cash handling and security procedures.
Achieve sales targets, and profit margins, whilst controlling labour and sundries costs
Produce weekly and monthly business forecasts and implement corrective actions
To lead by example, and ensure the team wears the correct uniform whilst on duty
Your normal place of work is stated under location on your Contract of Employment.
However, given the nature of the business, it is sometimes necessary to transfer people on a temporary or permanent basis to another location. Wherever possible, this will be within responsible daily travelling distance of your existing place of work.
What you’ll need:
Kitchen/Catering experience with a focus on creative offerings and fresh, nutritious ingredients
A Food Safety Level 2 certificate would be ideal – though training will be given
A strong understanding of kitchen equipment and best practices within food environments
A personable and outgoing approach to put a smile on everyone’s face and deliver fantastic experiences
An understanding of gross profit management
